“Debt Financing and Corporate Governance”

National Taiwan University’s Center for the Study of Banking and Finance (NTU-CSBF), Banking Education Association of Taiwan (BEAT) and Taiwan Hakka Forum of Association (THFA) will jointly sponsor The 9th NTU International Conference on Economics, Finance and Accounting (IEFA), on May 24-26, 2011. Concurrent sessions include keynote address, general sessions, panel discussions and academic paper sessions.
In pass six years, we had Franklin Allen from University of Pennsylvania, 2005; Edward I. Altman from New York University, 2006; Maureen O’ Hara & David Easley from Cornell University, 2007; Hayne Ellis Leland from UC Berkeley,2008; John Y. Campbell from Harvard University, 2009; Anil K. Kashyap from University of Chicago, 2010 as our keynote speakers. And this year, we are much honored to have Dr. Kenneth J. Singleton and Dr. Kose John as our 2011 keynote speakers. Dr. Kenneth J. Singleton is the Adam distinguished Professor of Management at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. Singleton has won numerous awards, including the Smith-Breeden Distinguished Paper Prize from the Journal of Finance, the Frisch Prize from the Econometric Society and the Irving Fisher Dissertation Award. He was named fellow of the Econometric Society and has been a Research Associate of the NBER. Dr. Kose John is the Charles William Gerstenberg Professor of Banking and Finance, at New York University’s Stern School of Business. His research has won abundant award, the prestigious Jensen Prize for the Best Paper Award, the Best Paper Award in Corporate Finance at the National meeting of Financial Management Association, and Sanwa Monograph Award on International Economics and Financial Markets. He is also a proud recipient of Battery march Fellowship.
We solicit submission of theoretical and empirical papers that study issues in “Debt Financing and Corporate Governance.” We are broadly interested in research in economics, finance (including insurance) and accounting fields. Topics relevant to the conference include, but are not limited to, the following: Dynamic Asset Pricing, Debt Financing,Credit Risk, Market Risk, Market Microstructure, International Finance and Investment, Corporate Governance and Earnings Quality.
You are invited to participate in the Conference and to submit research papers. Completed academic papers are preferred. Papers submitted will be blind-reviewed by an international panel of reviewers. The organizers will sponsor three to eight best paper awards of US$1,000~US$2,000.
